Elise got a little doctor kit a while back. The kids love it, but I have hated the thing because it inevitable leads to heated arguments about who gets to be the doctor.
Today we found a happy solution to our problem (I'm sure other people have thought of this long before me): Medicine. Ours was in the form of M&M's today.
The doctor had to determine the illness, and then the patient received an M&M cure. I enjoyed the various diseases the kids came up with. Probably my favorite: a bad brain, cured by the tricky combination of one orange and one green M&M. I make them remember what the cure is to various diseases, so it becomes a bit of a memory exercise as well.
Now they are happy to be the doctor, with the cool tools, and happy to be the patient, with a healthy dose of chocolate.

Good problem solving.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. When they share sandwiches, do you do the 'one person cut it and the other person choose first' thing? It's all about making both sides desirable. :o) Strong work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I would have never come up with that one on my own... Thanks!
