the children are hopeful

I wanted to make sure to get my Christmas decorations out since I sort of skipped Halloween this year and didn't want Christmas to suffer a similar fate.  So we pulled out all the Christmas junk on Tuesday and got it all set out.  I put a few ornaments on the top of the tree, but mostly just let the kids do it.  Sometimes I get OC about these things, and want everything to be balanced, etc, but this year, I was pretty chill.  Frank was really excited to get the tree set up.  The next morning, bright and early (much earlier than usual), I hear little kiddie voices talking in an animated manner.  I wasn't sure what was going on.  So I went downstairs, and found my kids in a deep state of distress because there were no presents under the tree.  I guess they were hoping, since the tree was up, that Santa would decided to come a little early.  If only it worked that way!  Now they are patiently counting down the days until Santa really will come.

In other news, I got another prom bomb for $1.50, and I'm working on turning it into another dress up dress.  This one is involving a few more structural changes than the last one, so I'm probably not going to get it finished for a week or two.  Plus, I really should be working on scout stuff instead, since I've got to get Pack Meeting thrown together by Wednesday.  Anyone want to join Procrastinators Anonymous with me?
