Finally got around to finishing up dress-up #2. I got the original dress for $1.50. It was a strapless satin number with a velvet bolero. Elise refers to this as her "Snow White dress", I guess because of the puffed sleeves? And she loves it because it's soft. It's a little big still (always better to err on the side of too big, right?). I'm not totally sold on these dark colors for a dress up princess dress, but the price was right, and this was the best prom dress the thrift store had that day. I tried to take her picture outside, but she couldn't keep her eyes open. Whatever. I've never been overly concerned with having perfect pictures.
Now that I'm looking at this, I realize I had a dress like this when I was little. Except not a full length skirt, just knee length. And it was a dark forest green instead of burgandy. And I loved it and wore it to church all the time. I'll have to see if I can scout up a picture of it.

It also had freakishly large roses all over it....I remember wearing it to church too! Elise's looks a little more tasteful than that one did, I think she could wear it to church!
