Practical applications of Geometry, or something like it.

I saw this idea in a magazine. I don't remember which one, or I would give them credit for their fabulous idea. This particular structure is our second. You need about 130 sheets of newspaper and a roll (yes, I used an entire roll) of masking tape. Luckily, the cheap masking tape at Walmart is only 88 cents, so it ends up being fairly affordable.

I didn't take these pictures on day 1, so you might notice some structural damage. It's made of paper, you have to expect a little damage, especially considering these pictures were taken on day 4. That's right. It lasted four entire days. This morning, before they left for school, Frank and Aiden destroyed it. (I was ready to have it gone, so I told them to destroy it.) I think they enjoyed destroying it just as much as they enjoyed playing in it. Bonus.

If you have a hankering to make your own, I can explain how, or even, if you can handle the smell, I'll come over and help you. But I'll have to bring my kids. These are really fun to build. By myself (i.e., no other adult), it takes a little under two hours to put it together. Without kids "assisting" me, I could probably do it in an hour. Totally worth the time investment.

It's hard to take pictures that do it justice (I am not a great photographer), so I hope you get the idea.
This is what was left after this morning's blood bath:
