The official Elise Sossiah Tea Party (not to be confused with the political Tea Party)

Our little tea party was yesterday.  I learned a few things.  Like little girls don't fully appreciate grenadine.  Chocolate milk is way more appealing.  Anyway, Elise had a blast, and hopefully all her little friends did too.   I'm pretty sure Elise is already working through the details of the next tea party in her mind.

Here's a pic of the set up.
And here are all the little girls.  I managed to cut Elise out of the second picture.

These girls managed to get out each and every girl toy we own, and they avoided the boys toys completely.  Every single dress-up dress Elise owns was being worn.  Some girls came in their own fancy dresses.  What does that say about gender stereotypes?

As a side note, I think I've decided I don't need to plan a birthday party for Elise.  These girls were so happy to just run around the house and play whatever they chose.  Why plan games when they just like playing?  For her birthday in June, I'm just going to skip the organized games, let them play, and then have a few snacks and presents.  Sooooo simple.

  1. that was the best tea party ever. MaKaty is still talking about it. You are much nicer than I am about the pulling out toys thing. I would much rather plan games than have to put away a million toys afterward. But you are right, the girls loved just playing.

  2. Sounds like you're subscribing to the Beka Bracken Birthday Party Plan. (Not the tea party, the not planning anything party.) But I just do it that way because I'm lazy. Every year I tell myself I'm not even going to do friend parties anymore because we have such a large extended family, but the kids have now come to expect it and all that. That was an AWESOME tea party! So cute. You're the best mom ever.:)
