Granted, it has been a loooooooooong time (I put one "o" for each year) since I registered for classes, but I don't remember it being such a headache. Working a schedule out seems to be particularly difficult now that I'm trying to work around 4 people's schedules instead of just my own. There are five classes I have to take, and three of the five are offered at exactly the same time slot (MW 2-3:15, really?) There are other sections available, but the TWH 4-6:30 time slot is not all that convenient for me, given that Frank gets home at 4. Ah, the joys. It makes me wonder why I have gotten myself into this mess. Was I not perfectly happy and content in my little schedule just a short six weeks ago (before I started cramming math back into my head.)
I just spent about two hours pouring over the class schedule considering each possible combination of classes. (I could probably calculate how many possible combinations there are, having recently reviewed counting techniques, but overlapping time slots make it a little difficult.) Without being specific about the exact number of possible combinations, lets just say there are a lot, but less than infinity. Sometime in the world of math, that is just specific enough. I finally stumbled upon one combination that I think might actually work without making me go completely insane driving back and forth at various strange times of day. It's certainly not the "ideal" schedule I would pick if I was able to dictate my schedule to them, but it's the best I could come up with. Now I just have to cross my fingers that I can actually get enrolled in the sections I need.
p.s. I haven't actually spoken in person with the math-y lady at DSC yet, but I think they are going to make me take a class called "Methods/Teaching Secondary School Math". It's really the only math class I didn't already have covered. So I was perusing old course schedules to see which symmesters it is generally offered, and it has not been in the course schedule at all over the past two years. Does that mean they just haven't actually offered the class? Seems strange to me. Maybe they just don't have anyone in the Math Education program? If that's the case, then maybe I actually will be able to find a job at the end of all this hoo-haw. If they don't ever offer the class, how can a person fulfill that requirement? Clearly I need to talk to the math-y lady, but who has time... I'll put it on my to do list for next week. Also on the list, dig through all the accumulating piles of crap all over my house since I have been studying and ignoring. And clean the toilets.

Sounds like craziness. Good luck to you! I admire your ambition. I'm ambitious about getting food every 2 hours. That's about it.
