On Sunday, my right eye started feeling wonky. I was at church when it started feeling weird, so I just ignored it, and sort of forgot about it until I took my contact out that night. I was hoping sleep would cure the problem, but it still felt weird Monday morning, so I tried not wearing the contact on my right eye. I even borrowed one of Frank's pirate eye patches for a while. It was annoying not having vision in both eyes, so around lunch time I caved and threw the other contact back in. Anyway, this morning, it is still bloodshot and weird, so I thought I better give my eye a break from contacts. I dug up a seriously old pair of glasses and boy is it fun. They make me motion sick. And because they are old, the prescription is off a bit, so my vision is a little funny. The strangest part is that everything seems little. When I got the bread out to make Frank's sandwich, it seemed so much smaller than usual. Then I looked at my hands, and they are miniature. Everything seems so small... It's kind of trippy. I hope my eye feels better soon, because perceiving the world in a non-usual way is weirding me out.
I'm not sure what's wrong with my eye. It's not goopy or swollen or anything alarming. It just feels like I fell asleep with a contact in, or wore a contact for too long or something. A little dry and irritated. Hopefully it will just happily correct itself soon, because I miss having my lenses floating directly on my eyeball. When they are like an inch in front of your eyeball it changes everything.

I've had my eye wig out like that a couple of times. A few days of faithfully wearing glasses seemed to cure it. Bummer...glasses. Sorry you can't wear your contacts! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Give it a couple of days, and if it still feels weird, you should probably get it checked out. (I hate that feeling, btw. My contacts are killing me right now.)
