So now we are in that awkward stage of new-routine-hood. I officially started a lovely new job yesterday (how is it possible that it was only yesterday?). My job is ultra part time. He had it advertised as 10-20 hours per week, and for the first two weeks it will probably take 20 hours (while I fix everything), but after that I think I'll probably only need about 10. That equals not a whole lot of money, but at least it's a job, right?
Even though I've only officially worked 8 hours, it has really been a crazy adjustment to make. I haven't worked in two years. Yikes! And it is really strange to have to be somewhere by a certain time. (I know what you are thinking... I've had to be a lot of places by a certain time over the past two years: preschool, church, various appointments. The problem is, I have come to think of those "time requirements" as more of a suggestion than an actual requirement. Frank was always at least 5 or 10 minutes late for preschool. So yeah. Have to get used to being there on time. It's going to hurt.)
Anyhow, I'm hoping that in a week or two we'll be all settled into a lovely new routine. Until then, my kids are just wondering why I'm NEVER around (or at least that's what it feels like), and I'm totally grumpy because I can't remember to eat lunch...
