A chronicle of Frank's first five days of riding the bus:
Day 1: Frank gets on the bus, and then gets off. It was too crowded, too intimidating, too loud. I drive him to school.
Day 2: No issues.
Day 3: No issues.
Day 4: Frank decides not to get off the bus at his stop. I was in my car waiting for him (having just come from work), and I guess he didn't see me, so he didn't get off. I had to chase the bus to the next stop.
Day 5: While waiting for the bus in the morning, Frank trips and his knee has a lovely bleeding scrap. We go home to get a bandaid and I drive him to school.
So I guess we had success two days out of five. Here's hoping we see an improvement next week!

Oh, Frank.... I bet I would have decided against riding the bus too if I'd had to ride the bus in Kindergarten. It is intimidating.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Puppy's bed looks great! I'm always so impressed with your abilities.
40% is nothing to sneeze at! Maybe on the lower end of the bell-curve, but bus grades are totally skewed anyway.
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm just getting the hang of this bus thing as well. We just started Monday and guess who got locked in her gated community as Lucy's bus drove by with Lucy in it? Yep, me. They let all the other kids off, but needed to see me personally. So, I suck and i'm gaining Lucy's trust again. Never mind that I was waiting 30 min early that day... stupid gate!
ReplyDeleteEvery day is a new experience for us as well. Yesterday Alex didn't want to get on the bus because he wasn't first in line. I just smiled, waved, and shouted "Have a great day!" As I walked to my car. I'm mean. Your narrative of the first day of school was hilarious, BTW. Nice cell phone pic.:)
