weird dreams abound

There must be something in the air at my house because we are all having weird dreams. I feel like a bit of a zombie due to lack of restful sleep (between fielding Frank's nightmares and my own weird dreams). Last night, around 2, Frank came into my room saying that he dreamed there was a giant tarantula in his room. Then a few hours later, he came in sobbing because he had broken off one of his toenails and had lost it. He was sad because he wanted to keep that toenail forever. It took a while to calm him down. This morning, he told me that if he felt around his whole bed he might find it. I told him that he probably wouldn't find it, and he got these big crocodile tears. He is truly mourning the loss of that toenail piece. I would like to clarify that we are talking about a regular toenail-clipping-like-thing here, nothing spectacular, though for whatever reason it is spectacular to Frank.
I spent the entire night dreaming that I needed to acquire a dorm room for a decent price, but the university wanted like $1200 a month for a simple dorm room. I was very frustrated. And Tibett, a girl I worked with years and years ago, was a lesbian and introduced me to her new partner. And Frank was being advanced into college, but I was concerned that he wouldn't be able to make it to his classes on time because he couldn't tell time yet. I was unconcerned about his ability to do the school work.
Similar situations have been happening all week, though the subject matter of the dreams varies. And in case you were wondering, Frank is terrified of the movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." I hope Frank's little nightmare phase is over soon (they come and go, so I know it won't last forever). I think my dreams are always a little weirder when I'm up with him a couple times a night.

  1. If I remember correctly, Aaron introduced me to a jar full of collected toenails sometime after his mission. (Either that or belly button lint...one of the two). Either way, I think those Brickeys might have an unnatural attachment to bodily sluffings. Just a thought.

  2. Wow. Giant tarantulas and toenail clippings. Very interesting. I love that you weren't concerned about the college courses themselves--just the cost of the dorm and whether or not Frank would learn how to read a watch. :o) Is there a reason (other than sleep deprivation) for the strange dreams? Hmmm?

  3. You are right Beka. I believe the jar contained both belly button lint and nail clippings. I believe Aaron's mom had the decency to throw it away soon after Aaron's mission. I hope it is perfectly clear to everyone that I am not storing such things anywhere in my house.
